The easy access allows the arms to unzip allowing the upper half to be placed over the head. The half back prevents overheating and allows a person in a wheelchair or scooter to simply lean forward tuck in the half back and zip up the arms.
The lap blanked then can be zipped to the upper half for full coverage.
