What is pain?
Acute pain is pain that begins suddenly. It can be sharp or severe, and is the type of pain that can occur after surgery, dental work, strains, or sprains. Acute pain is short-term and disappears after treatment or when the body's natural healinpowers resolves it.

What is TENS?
TENS is a drug-free way to control acute and chronic pain. It is a form of electrical stimulation that is applied using electrodes placed upon the skin. The resulting action is to modulate the perception or feeling of pain.
TENS devices use two approaches to pain relief:
1. TENS devices target your sensory nerves, stimulating themto block pain signals and prevent their transmissionto the brain.
2. TENS devices promote production of endorphins, the body's natural pain relieving substances.
